At the end of the course, the students are expected to:
1. appreciate the importance of object technology;
2. become familiar with the history of the Visual Basic.NET programming language;
3. be introduced to the Visual Studio.NET Integrated Development Environment (IDE);
4. be able to write simple and complex Visual Basic programs;
5. understand basic problem-solving techniques;
6. be able to create and manipulate non-modifiable character string objects;
7. be able to create, read, write, and update files; and
8. understand the relational database model.
